My definition of a perfect library trip…

…finding a book I need to read for a book group and stumbling upon a book that’s newly published and I really want to read.

Yay!

  1. Nice! Sometimes the universe just gets it right. It was interesting to see an interview of Katherine Stockett on the TV Book Club (although the rest of the programme was crap – Peter Andre?? Why??)

  2. It’s very weird, because I saw ‘The TV Book Club’ last night and after seeing their review of ‘The Help’, it has made me want to read it too. I’d be interested to see what you think of this novel.

Also I agree that the rest of the programme was rubbish. How Peter Andre can justify labelling himself as an author, by simply getting someone else to put pictures of him and his family in a book, is beyond me. It’s sad to think that this book will probably get to the top of the bestseller’s list.

Great finds! I hope that you enjoy The Help as much as I did and that you have a good discussion about Dead Babies.

  4. Good finds! Sounds like a delightful visit to the library! 🙂

  5. I am looking forward to the discussion of Dead Babies I have to say! I have recently bumped The Help up the TBr, have had it since its initial release and have very naughtily not read it yet!

  6. That is definitely a YAY moment! What great books! Hope you enjoy The Help!

  7. This fortuitous even happened to me as well tonight! I picked up a paperback for a reading prize, and int he course of my visit discovered The Changeling by Kenzaburo Oe on the Hot shelf. Hooray for us! (Usually I just find fines.)

  8. I really enjoyed The Help – I hope you do too. I recently reviewed it on my blog if you’re interested 🙂

  9. Wow: when I first tried to borrow The Help from my library there was quite the wait! Hee. Hope you love it as much as I did.

I’m not impressed by my library not stocking Dead Babies (I’m trying to buy as few books as possible these days) and my request to borrow it from elsewhere somehow went astray… Grrr. Bonus points go to ebay.

Oh how annoying that they don’t stock it! Yes I was dead chuffed about The Help. Must have been serendipity!

  10. That´s fantastic! Sometimes it all comes together 🙂

I´ve yet to read The Help, too, and Dead Babies sounds so great as well.
