New arrivals and my updated TBR

Just showing off some new arrivals…

New ArrivalsThanks Simon of Savidge Reads for the last three (you are a very bad influence!) and Roastbooks for My Soviet Kitchen.

…and my updated TBR which I’m hoping to read all of this month (this might be a little ambitious!):

What new books are you excited about?

  1. I’m looking forward to your thoughts on many of the books you have planned for July. I have a copy of Pretty Monsters, but haven’t really felt inspired to read it – hopefully you’ll change that!

The Help and Small Island are both wonderful – enjoy!

  2. Can’t wait to hear what you think about The Help, Polly.

My TBR pile is very fickle and can shuffle around on a whim (my whim, not its). I am reading The Legacy (one of the TV Book Club’s summer reads) at the moment and loving it.

  3. I’ve heard good things about Pretty Monsters and am planning to read it one day. Will be interested to see what you think. And I’ve never read A Confederacy of Dunces although it’s one of those books I think I ought to read…

  4. I loved A Confederacy of Dunces! 😀 Pretty Monsters sounds really good, I need to get a copy.

This is ambitious but I`m sure it´s worht it, those books look all so great 🙂

I´m trying to read through my library books pile, not sure how that´ll turn out.

  5. That looks like one very fat edition of A Confederacy of Dunces! Mine is a modest paperback (haven’t read it yet). Love those stripes though 😉

I just got a copy of The Help too, but it’ll be a while before I can start it. I’ve picked up lots of yummy books lately and as usual don’t know where to start! Your TBR pile is so small!! It’s the most I can do discipline myself to finish what I’ve started 😀 (like, eat all your peas!)

  6. My mother loved Good-bye Madame Butterfly, and I hope you do, too. I, of course, have yet to read it as well… 😉

  7. I’d love to know what you think about A Confederacy of Dunces :). I haven’t read it but am thinking to.

  8. You have to read Small Island!!! I went and saw Andrea Levy talk last night about her new book and Small Island with Kim and listening to her speaking about them I just wanted to read them both all over again!

  9. I saw you got a copy of A Confederacy of Dunces – one of my all time favorite reads. I hope you enjoy it and I can’t wait to read what you thought of it. Great pile of books! Enjoy!!

  10. I loved The Help. Bloodroot by Amy Greene is my new favorite. It’s sort of a Wuthering Heights meets Mudbound…
