Tuesday Teaser

“Here was all laughter and confusion. 1. Now doesn’t that paint a picture?! I hadn’t seen the NYRB edition cover before and it’s certainly striking – on balance though I do prefer my VMC edition.

    • Oh have you read it yet? My copy is actually an old Penguin Classic from the 60’s but I can’t find an image that looks nice in thumbnail 🙂

  2. Not yet I’m afraid – I have a bigger appetite for books than I have time to read them at the moment.

  3. Lovely teaser and it reminds me I need to color my roots this morning, really, I’m going upstairs right now to get started!

  4. Very interesting, it certainly does paint a picture. My teaser is up at Calico Contemplations.

  8. What a wonderful teaser! I certainly get a pretty picture in my head from those wonderful words. I’m not familiar with this book but I am definitely going to track it down in the bookstore!

  9. What wonderfully descriptive and delightful prose. I might have to borrow this off you frankly!

I know, I know, I said ‘borrow’ am trying not to buy!

    • 🙂 I’m not sure how well you are going to cope with your book ban Mr Savidge Reads, but of course you can borrow it.

  10. That is enticing and very descriptive!
